As it is customary to organise orientation and training programmes for school and college teachers before the commencement of the new academic year, GRID was invited by three schools and one college to facilitate Workshops on Teacher Effectiveness. Here is a brief report of the various programmes.

Carmel School, Kotekar

A half-day Workshop on Teacher Effectiveness was conducted by Prof. Joselyn Lobo, consultant GRID for school teachers of Carmel English Medium School in Kotekar, Mangalore on 25 May 2023. The group consisted of 33 teachers from primary to high school level.

In the noon, a training programme on Soft Skills for Capacity Building was conducted for Std. X students and 50 students participated actively in the sessions. The workshops were initiated by Sr. Jesinta, Principal, Sr. Anita D’Souza, Vice Principal and Ms. Suneela the school counsellor.

Ladyhill English Higher Primary School

A one-day Workshop on Teacher Effectiveness was conducted for school teachers of Ladyhill English Higher Primary School, Urwa, Mangalore on 29 May 2023. This was the second workshop for teachers of the same school after a gap of eight years. The programme was organised by the Principal Sr. Jenifer and attended by 22 teachers of the school.

St. Agnes Pre-University College

A one-day Workshop on Teacher Effectiveness was conducted for college teaching faculty of the prestigious St. Agnes Pre-University College, Mangalore on 30 May 2023. Prof. Joselyn Lobo, who is also a member of the PTA, conducted the morning session focussing on pedagogy, while the noon session was facilitated by Ms. Luella Shanthi Lobo, Associate Member of GRID on teacher as a counsellor. It was attended by 40 participants and organised by Sr. Norine D’Souza the Principal.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Mangalore

Amrita Vidyalayam School in Sultan Bathery, Mangalore invited GRID to conduct a one-day Workshop on Teacher Effectiveness on 1 June 2023. A batch of 18 enthusiastic teachers participated in the workshop. The morning session mainly focussing on creative teaching and pedagogy was conducted by Prof Joselyn Lobe, while the noon session on teacher as a counsellor was facilitated by Ms. Luella Shanthi Lobo.               Mr. Yatish the Campus Director initiated the programme with Ms. Akshatha Shenoy the Principal.
