GRID’s unique orientation programme was conducted for undergraduate freshers of BA, BSW and BCOM courses of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. The two-day orientation held on 29 & 30 September 2025 was facilitated by Prof. Joselyn T Lobo, President and Ms. Ratna Pinto, Secretary GRID.

The entire programme was participatory in nature with activities, exercises and games and covered self-awareness, stress management, interpersonal relationships, creativity, problem solving and goal setting. The freshers also reflected on expectations from the college and vice versa.

The orientation was rated as ‘excellent’ by 24 participants, while 10 mentioned it as ‘good’. The Prinicipal Dr. Sophia Fernandes initiated the programme and Ms. Sarik, the Student Welfare Officer coordinated the event. Dr. Sandra Lobo, Dean & HOD of Psychology Department was present at the inaugural and lighted the lamp.  Ms. Kushi and Ms. Mahalakshmi students of III BA assisted as volunteers.
